In many construction companies, the disconnect between the field and the accounting office often leads to confusion over job costs—each side speaking a different language when interpreting the same numbers. This course will examine how job costs can be viewed differently across roles within a construction company and why aligning those perspectives is essential to forecasting cash flow. It will demonstrate how finance professionals can leverage job cost data to improve forecasting and support better financial planning across projects.

Learning Objectives

After this session, you will be able to:

• Understand conditions that must be considered from the Bid Phase through completion and how the same job can be viewed in vastly different ways.
• Understand best practices for predicting cashflow by forecasting collections and payments for a given period.
• Have examples of job cost tracking and cash flow projections that can be updated as project conditions evolve
• Be able to implement a monthly forecasting model at their company regardless of the software they use.
