Sky Goodwin, Esq., MBOE, LSSBB is the Executive Vice President of Johnson Roofing, Inc., where he leads business operations, oversees HR and legal functions, and drives strategic and process improvement initiatives—fulfilling many of the traditional responsibilities of a COO. In addition, Sky is the Managing Principal of Solve4x, LLC, a consulting firm built on the principles of operational excellence and scalable strategy. Solve4x offers a unique hybrid of services—fractional executive leadership, transactional attorney services, and team and leadership development. With a strong emphasis on case-based learning, the firm helps clients stabilize operations, build smart systems, and develop the capabilities needed to grow and thrive in complex environments.
As a seasoned consultant, attorney, and entrepreneur, Sky brings a deep background in business turnarounds, strategy development, and process improvement—especially in data-driven environments. He has designed proprietary methodologies and analytics systems to uncover operational inefficiencies, built custom dashboards to enhance executive decision-making, and developed software tools that automate workflows, improve reporting, and scale with business growth. Sky first joined Johnson Roofing in 2008 as the company’s Corporate Risk Officer, where he helped build foundational systems for efficiency, compliance, and operational oversight. In 2009, he moved to Ohio to marry his wife and expand his career in consulting, education, and executive leadership. He returned to Waco in late 2024, bringing with him a wealth of experience in business transformation and a renewed commitment to driving growth and operational excellence at Johnson Roofing.
Sky holds a BBA in Finance with a minor in Economics from Southern Methodist University, a Juris Doctor with a specialization in transactional law from Washburn University School of Law, and a Master of Business Operational Excellence from The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and has completed Master Black Belt coursework at Villanova University. Sky is also licensed to practice law in the State of Kansas.
In addition to his executive and consulting roles, Sky is a Lecturer at The Ohio State University College of Engineering, where he teaches the capstone course for the Master of Engineering Management program—focusing on operational excellence, project management, and principles of Lean Six Sigma— all with an emphasis on building a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
